Why this role matters:
As an RF AIT Engineer, you play a vital role in ensuring the signal integrity and link performance of ICEYE's satellite constellation. You will lead the technical integration and validation of high-frequency communication and radar systems, executing RF verification campaigns, integrating RF hardware with satellite subsystems, and acting as the primary technical contact for RF-related issues on the production floor. Every spacecraft that leaves Valencia depends on your expertise to meet ICEYE's standards for mission success.
Who We Are
ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.
ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.
ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.
Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.
Your day-to-day responsibilities
•
Execute assembly, integration, and testing of complex RF subsystems including transmitters, antennas, and RF modules
•
Perform system-level RF validation campaigns focusing on antenna patterns, signal integrity, and link budget verification
•
Lead the integration of RF hardware with other satellite subsystems (avionics, power, thermal), ensuring seamless interoperability and system health
•
Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks in Python to enhance efficiency and coverage across RF functional and environmental test campaigns
•
Act as the primary technical contact for RF-related integration issues, performing root cause analysis and coordinating with engineering teams to resolve anomalies
•
Review, update, and validate RF-specific work instructions, travelers, and test procedures to ensure clarity and manufacturability
•
Support production readiness and design reviews (PRR, CDR) by providing feedback on RF testability, hardware-in-the-loop requirements, and system configuration
What we’re looking for
Must haves:
•
5+ years of hands-on experience in the integration, testing, or production of complex RF or microwave systems
•
Demonstrated proficiency with high-end RF test equipment including Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) and Spectrum Analyzers
•
Strong proficiency in Python scripting and automation for test development and data analysis
•
Proven experience in multidisciplinary engineering environments with a focus on system-level validation
•
Deep technical understanding of satellite communication subsystems and RF payload interfaces
•
Systems engineering mindset -- able to anticipate integration risks and connect RF performance with broader mission operations
•
Proficient English (written and spoken) for cross-functional collaboration
Nice to haves:
•
Track record of enabling design-for-testability (DFT) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) for RF hardware
•
Experience with Atlassian Cloud tools (Jira, Confluence)
