Why this role matters:
As a Senior Production Technician, Mechanical & Thermal, you serve as a technical anchor within ICEYE's Mechanical & Thermal Production team in Valencia. You will independently execute complex assembly, integration, and testing activities that require precision, deep technical understanding, and sound judgment. Working closely with Specialists and Production Line Owners, you will lead frontline troubleshooting, ensure process stability, and elevate team capability by mentoring junior technicians, all while maintaining the high standards of flight readiness that ICEYE's satellites demand.

Your day-to-day responsibilities
•
Perform advanced assembly and integration activities including critical torque and bonding operations, subsystem integration, and complex test setups
•
Lead the identification and resolution of build and process issues, collaborating with Specialists, AIT Engineering, and Quality to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
•
Review work instructions, travelers, and checklists for accuracy, providing actionable feedback for revision and initiating improvement projects in safety, reliability, tooling, and efficiency
•
Act as a coach and role model for junior and standard technicians, providing on-the-job training and transferring best practices across the team
•
Support Production Line Owners and Team Leaders by preparing test environments, verifying configurations, and contributing technical insight during line meetings
•
Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready work environment compliant with ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards
What we’re looking for
Must haves:
•
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
•
3+ years of practical experience in mechanical assembly or integration, ideally in aerospace or another high-reliability environment
•
Strong understanding of structural assembly techniques including torqueing, alignment, and thermal hardware application (panels, structures, deployables, pads, pastes, tapes)
•
Familiarity with aerospace standards (ECSS, IPC, ISO) and cleanroom practices
•
Proven ability to interpret engineering documentation and translate it into practical work instructions
•
Strong attention to detail, structured problem-solving, and clear communication skills on the production floor
Nice to haves:
•
Experience with satellite mechanical subsystems and thermal hardware integration
•
Exposure to environmental test campaigns (vibration, thermal vacuum)
•
Experience supporting design-for-manufacturing (DfM) initiatives
•
Familiarity with ERP or MES systems in a production environment
•
Knowledge of deployable mechanisms
